SAN DIEGO AMATEUR WINEMAKING SOCIETY
May 2004
Please check out the bulletin board for the details.
Business: The March Meeting at Morgan Run was well attended. Thanks again, Erik, for your work in arranging the facilities.
Dues-$12.00 per household were due January 1st. All unpaid members were dropped from the email list as of the last meeting.
Anyone pouring wine at the Wine Festival and Stomp aboard the Berkeley should have all the details done by now. SDAWS will have a booth at the event.
There has been some discussion regarding the San Diego Fair rules this year that will prohibit the winemakers from being able to finish off the "entries" in a social atmosphere. This is due to the Fair Grounds agreement with the commercial vendor who sees this as competition that violates their contract to provide the beverage services. We are looking into the possibility of turning over bottles to the San Diego Vintners Association for their tasting booth. I'm sure there will be more to come on this subject.
