SAN DIEGO AMATEUR WINEMAKING SOCIETY
March 2004
Well, March is coming in like a Lion.
The vines are pruned, if mildew is a thorn in your side a pre-emergent spraying
may be in order.
All this rain may have us into bud-break by March's warm ( Lamb-like) end.
Business
A number of people made it to the January meeting. Pete Anderson gave a demonstration
lecture on pruning techniques. If you need a copy of the minutes from the meeting
please email mrussell@ucsd.edu
<mailto:mrussell@ucsd.edu>
Annual dues in the amount of $12 per household were due January 1. All unpaid
members will be dropped from the distribution list after the March Meeting.
If you need to mail in your dues please contact ssgrosso@mesacomp.com
<mailto:ssgrosso@mesacomp.com>
Lum conducted a survey regarding educational topics that members are interested
in learning more about. He will have more information on his summary findings
at the March Meeting.
Pete will update us on the SD County Fair contest.
Robin and/or Michelle will have an update on the T-shirts. We need a member with experience with T-shirt coordination and are looking for a volunteer. Robin is finalizing the artwork, but we need someone who can check styles, prices, quantities, etc.. and report back to the membership. If you can do this, please email mrussell@ucsd.edu <mailto:mrussell@ucsd.edu> and you will be given further information.

Directions to Morgan Run Golf Club:
Morgan Run is in Rancho Santa Fe/Solana Beach border. It is off of Via De La
Valle, between El Camino Real and Cazada Del Bosque (east of the
5). Off of via De La Valle (will see the signs for Whispering Palms and
the see golf course to the north), turn into Cancha de Golf and take it
to the end into the club. Parking is free in the lot. Take front
entrance and receptionist will direct you to the conference room.
for custom directions, go to <http://www.morganrun.com/> and click on the address at the bottom of the page. That will send you to Mapquest,where you can enter a starting address and it will provide full driving directions.
If you're lost, call 858-756-2471, and someone at the club can direct you.
Attire:
Shirt should be collared, no t-shirts. Shorts are ok. Think "Country Club".
Jeans are generally frowned upon, even though Erik mentioned we probably could
get away with them being in the Conference Room, however, we need to consider
the rules of our host, Morgan Run.
