SAN DIEGO AMATEUR WINEMAKING SOCIETY

Happy New Year!
When we met in November we had a large gathering at Bob and Carins house where
we privileged to have Carmen Gispert come and lecture on the UC vineyard research
on the vine mealy bug.
And now....
Pruning time is here, so join us on Saturday, January 17th @ 11:30 for a pruning
class amidst the vines of Cougar Vineyards, Rick and Jennifer Buffingtons Place.

bring a patio or folding chair if you have one or you might be standing!
For lunch please pack your own sandwich or something and bring a bottle of wine
and a side dish, salad, or desert to share. Utensils provided.

1. Pruning demo as mentioned above
2. A financial update and dues collection
3. Web site update

5. Status of the SDAWS Logo
6. Status of the T-shirt purchase

Directions:
I-15 North to Oceanside/I-76 exit. Turn left onto I-76. Several miles, turn
right at Gird Road (theres a stop light). Stay on Gird several miles.
Just past the California Coi Company sign turn left onto Via Loma (its
easy to miss). Follow the road to the first hilltop, turn right onto Via Loma
(also a sign for Champagne Crest). Ill have the gate open. If you arrive
and its closed, ring the Buffington number from the gate menu. Its
the second house on the left. 2383 Dos Lomas. If lost, call 760.451.9938.
P.S. If you look up the address on yahoo maps it will get you into the neighborhood
but it has you turn right at the last moment, missing the home completely. It
also mentions Via Rancheros which I dont even know of in the neighborhood.
I have attached that infamous yahoo map with my own X marking our house, ignore
the red star.
